Mshangilieni Bwana is a vibrant SA choral setting of Psalm 100:1–2, combining Swahili and English text to celebrate joyful, global praise. Written for soprano and alto voices with piano accompaniment, this piece features energetic rhythmic motifs, accessible ranges, and clear diction, making it ideal for church choirs, multicultural worship services, and concert programming.
The Swahili refrain (“Mshangilieni Bwana”) - meaning “Make a joyful noise to the Lord” - is woven together with the familiar English text, creating an engaging call-and-response feel that builds excitement and congregational energy. While rhythmically engaging, the work remains approachable for developing and intermediate choirs.
